ipoints.co.uk have made a long awaited change to their currency today, changing its value from around 5p to 1/2p.
For a long time, members have been accusing ipoints of being ’stingy’ with free offers such as their ipolls and the fact was, that 5p is just too much to pay for someone to tell you what their favourite flavour of crisps is. It also meant that deals like the one with Webfetch took ages before you’d done enough activity to see any change in your balance.
For the consumer this should mean a bigger range of free offers, although this time of year often sees ipoints squeeze a few more points onto the value of popular, but low profit items such as vouchers.
For advertisers, will more incentivised clicks in the marketĀ do them any good? The traffic sent by incentive sites can lead to as many sweaty palms as Greasy Palms as James Little has commented recently.
I’ve not been able to go and see if I’m still on track for my next freebie purchaseĀ from Amazon as the site was down at the time of writing.
